World of Duel Masters

There exists a special trading card game called Duel Masters. The game has many players and many more fans. Both children and adults duel with decks for fun and also in grand, stadium-filled tournaments. Complete rules for how to play Duel Masters can be found in the Rules & Strategy section.

The game cards represent awesome battle creatures from five mighty and mysterious civilizations.

The Fire Civilization is located in a volcanic and battle-torn land ruled by those with the most firepower. Dragonoid warriors fight for honor and glory. Armored dragons roam the skies. A race of intelligent robots called Armorliods roll, crawl and blast about seeking strategic advantage. Noble human soldiers suit up in massive weapons systems and take on all comers.

The Nature Civilization is carved from a savage world of primeval forests. Powerful beastmen use uprooted trees, axes and swords to defend their territories. Killer plants reach and strangle with coiling vines, while giant insects slash out victories wherever they can find them.

The Darkness Civilization sprawls across a foul and poisoned landscape. Magic wielding demons command creepy, masked, undead minions. Nightmare creatures steal about with malicious designs and monstrous worms and slimes pursue unsuspecting quarry.

The Water Civilization hails from a network of sunken cyber cities. Massive leviathans patrol the depths engaging enemies at the flip of a fin. Chip-jacked liquid soldiers stand ready to pounce while their overlords use techno guile and cunning to trap and manipulate their opponents.

The Light Civilization floats amongst the clouds in celestial citadels. The highly evolved citizens deploy an array of ultra tech guardians. Some of these look like spacecraft others appear to be angels of technology. All are enigmatic and powerful.

For many Duel Masters is just a fun game, but for some it is much more. It has been discovered that an elite few players can actually bring the card creatures to life in our world. Doing so requires passion and discipline. A sort of martial art, Kaijudo, develops and strengthens this ability. Kaijudo literally means the art of battling with giant monsters.

Elaborate training halls and dueling temples have been erected to perfect this art. In the not so distant past two men had emerged as true Kaijudo champions. One, now known only as The Master, had his face scarred in a duel and now runs a Duelist temple. The other, Shori Kirifuda, has mysteriously disappeared.
